CONCEPT
The concept is based on injection moulding production lines repurposing needs in 4 main areas:
- Development and installation of modular molds with interchangeable cavity plates
- Numerical modelling and design optimization with feedback from in-line inspection
- Integration of automation technologies and cloud manufacturing solutions
- Agile and responsive supply chain planning
METHODOLOGY
Several steps are designed in order to reach the main aim of the project, for plastic processing industrial lines repurposing towards production of PPE and ICU medical consumables.
a) Upgrading/enhancing the existing production lines
b) AM fabrication of universal master dies and cavity plates
c) Digital twins of the injection moulding process and virtual trials
d) Cloud Manufacturing service encapsulation
